Vivace Creator lets you write music the way you would in MuseScore or Sibelius — with the keyboard (N, then letters for pitches and digits for values) or by clicking the staff — hear it played back with real instrument sounds, mix several instruments, and save your work as MusicXML, which every notation program opens. Nothing is uploaded: the score lives in your browser until you download it.
Already here: chords, up to four voices, tuplets from duplets to nonuplets, ties and slurs, a palette of clefs, key and time signatures, articulations, ornaments, grace notes, dynamics, hairpins, 8va lines, pedal marks, repeats with first and second endings, D.C. and D.S. jumps, lyrics in three verses and chord symbols (the notes and the marks are all heard in playback; chord symbols are not played yet), instruments with a mixer, MusicXML in and out, MIDI export and printing. Coming next: real PDF pages, parts and the MuseScore file format. Tell us what you miss on the contact page.
Yes, completely: no account, no subscription and no watermark. It is part of Vivace Music, a free sheet music and music education site.
In your browser, on your own device. It is saved automatically as you work and is never uploaded. Use File, then Export, to keep a MusicXML or Vivace file or to send it to someone.
Export the score from those programs as MusicXML (.musicxml or .mxl) and open that file here; the scores you write here open in them the same way. Native .mscz files are not supported yet.
Yes. On a touch screen the editor fills the screen and adds a note keypad: tap a letter to write a note, pick its value, and pinch to zoom.
Percussion notation, tablature, cross-staff beaming, figured bass and part extraction. Tell us what you need on the contact page.
More free tools: the Sheet Music Converter opens and transposes MusicXML, the library has 3,600+ scores to play along with, and the music theory course explains the notation.
